Breeze Creatives alongside Northumberland College are taking the groundbreaking step to extradite its fine art educational programme from the institution straight into the professional art world.
Unlike any other college course in the North East, the development and learning will take place in an environment saturated with professionals within the arts and across the most diverse of fields.
Located in the heart of Newcastle City Centre at Bamburgh House, a thriving cultural hub, the FAD programme is characterised by experiential, experimental and integrated learning, relying upon the development of manual skills, whilst valuing the accidental and disruptive results that can occur. The programme of study ensures that students are exposed to the full range of the common principles and the distinctive characteristics of subject disciplines.
The aim of BTEC Level 3-4 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design is to educate students to make informed decisions which will facilitate their academic progression. It builds upon the student’s prior knowledge and skills, helping them through the process of experimentation to develop and play with creative ideas that are theoretically and contextually underpinned.
This course aims to teach students independence and confidence; it aims to challenge student’s own preconceptions creatively and gives them not only the verbal skills, but also the technical expertise that they require to go forward and enter Higher Education or the Creative Industries.
The Level 4 elements of the programme aim to develop the student’s capacity for in-depth enquiry, autonomy, critical analysis and initiative in exploring ideas and adapting media, while bringing the scope of their study to an ambitious and coherent conclusion.
